The Joy School is located in University Place. It is a private, secular, school for students with learning differences such as dyslexia and autism spectrum disorder. The Joy School serves students in elementary and middle school (grades K-8), usually for 2 to 4 years with the goal of preparing them to return to mainstream elementary, middle, and high school. The school’s mission is to “prepare students with learning differences to return to traditional classroom settings by enabling them to reach their academic and social potential in a safe, supportive environment.”
