The Rice School/ La Escula Rice is located in Braeswood and was named after William Marsh Rice. It is a public, magnet-only program for students in kindergarten through eighth grade living anywhere within the Houston ISD boundaries. The school opened in 1994 and offers a magnet program in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Spanish.
