Marshall Middle Academy of Fine Arts is located in Northside Village. Opened in 1913, it was originally known as Northside Junior High School and was renamed for John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. Marshall is a public, comprehensive middle school (grades 6th through 8th) in Houston ISD. It serving neighborhood residents and offers a magnet program focusing on the fine arts. The school offers courses in dance, visual arts, theatre, band, piano, Mariachi, guitar, and orchestra.
