MacGregor Elementary is located in Museum Park. It is part of Houston ISD, and a public, comprehensive elementary zoned school as well as a magnet school for Science and Music. Formerly known as Southmore Elementary School, built in 1921, the school was renamed in 1930 in honor of Henry F. MacGregor, a local banker and oilman. The school’s unique offerings include courses in choir, band, guitar, piano, and orchestra along with the ‘Recipe for Success’ seed to table nutrition program.
