Lantrip Elementary is a public elementary school located in the Greater Eastwood/ Lawndale/Wayside neighborhood. The elementary school is part of Houston ISD and was founded in 1916 and later rebuilt. Formerly Eastwood Elementary, the school is named after Dora B. Lantrip, its first principal. Lantrip is a zoned school for area residents as well as an environmental science magnet school. The school is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School.
