Hogg Middle School is located in the Greater Heights. It is a Houston ISD zoned school for neighborhood residents, and International Baccalaureate World School that offers a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) magnet program, and an English/Spanish dual language program. The school, built in 1926, is named after James A. Hogg, the first native born Governor of Texas. In addition to UIL sports (football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country, and track), Hogg students also compete in wrestling, karate, baseball, softball, and squash.
