The High School for Law and Justice (HSL&J) is located in the East End neighborhood. This program began in 1978 on three different campuses as a cooperative effort between HISD, the Mayor’s Office, and the Houston Police Department. In 1980, the program was consolidated as a vocational magnet high school and relocated to a single campus. The school moved to a new campus on Scott Street between Pease and Coyle streets in 2017-18. Part of Houston ISD, HSL&J is a public, specialized, magnet senior high school, open only to students who apply for admission. HSL&J students receive vocational and legal studies training.
