Eastwood Academy is a high school located in the Greater Eastwood neighborhood. It is affiliated with HISD, and is a charter school offering a college preparatory program. All students must apply to the school, which offers a college preparatory curriculum and advanced academic courses. Eastwood admits students based on grades, standardized test scores, teacher recommendations, and interviews. It originally opened on the Jackson (now Navarro) Middle School campus in 1997, and moved to its present location in 1998. Eastwood is frequently named a top public high school in the city and state.The school is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School.

Admission to Eastwood Academy is conducted through a multi-stage process.  Students are assessed on the strength of their application not only by academics, but also by personality and contribution to the world around them.  Students are additionally interviewed by one or more of our faculty members to help determine if Eastwood Academy is the “best fit” for the student’s needs.
